mexico city for the sake of it.

I am currently on a very unexpected travel.
Since I am most definitely not rich, I always plan my trips ahead of time. At least a month or two. But the another fact about my life which has nothing to do with money is that I have an amazingly beautiful (and I mean that in the whole sense of the word) husband.

And so, a really good friend of mine, which I met on a travel adventure to the middle east in 2006 just adopted her first son. And because it is her and because I am so extremely interested in adoption, my husband got the idea to send me to her current city to meet the lovely baby.

I am now waiting at the Guadalajara International Airport in order to board my flight to Mexico city.

Now, Mexico city is, in my eyes, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Of course, I understand that my eyes have by no means seen even a decent amount of the whole world, but I'm sticking to my gut in saying that Mexico city will never lose it's charm with me.

Despite being a crazy buzzing city, filled with cars and crazy driving situations, it is my home country capital and although I have visited it many times, every time I come around, I find something different to see. From ancient pyramids built by the Teotihuacan culture, to amazing skyscrapers and a huge diversity of culture, arquitecture, art and everything beautiful to the eye.

The city can be navigated by metro (subway, subte, underground), and public transportation, but also taxis are really inexpensive.

It is often said about Mexico city that it is a very dangerous city and that you'll get robbed in every street corner, but that is obviously not true. You just have to be careful as in all the big cities in the world, and enjoy what is there to be enjoyed.

Give Mexico city a try, you won't regret it.
